Special stock covers stock where costs from the supplier fluctuate, or when stock is not normally carried. Stock such as hire stock would be set up as Special stock as well.
Special stock works in a slightly different way to other types of stock. The description that is entered on the stock record does not show when selling the stock. Instead, a further choice of stock can be made, or a description can be manually entered.
Create a special stock code called ACCOMMODATION.
Create three purchase orders for this stock. As per below, each purchase is for a different vendor, has a different description used for the stock code and each also has a different price.
When the special stock is added to a sales job, in the Description field, you can select the relevant stock by clicking on the ellipsis:
In the Select special stock to sell window, you can tick the stock that you would like to sell, then click Add to Job.
This will add the special stock to the job and will change the description:
