Prior to installing Jef, you need to make sure you have all the system prerequisites in place. Refer to System Requirements for more information.

 

The checklist of things you will need to know, decide and/or enable before installation are:

IIS is set up and a web application created (ASP.NET version 4.6).

The URL of your website.

The FTP or file path to the root directory of your web application.

The server address or name, logon details and database name for your Microsoft SQL Server.

The DNS name or IP address of the machine on which Jes is running, and the TCP port to be used.

TCP/IP connectivity enabled between the web server and Jes.

HTTP connectivity between Jes and Jef.

If you have an existing website you are overwriting with Jef, you should backup that website prior to deploying Jef.

 

If a third party (ISP) is hosting your website, most of the above will be managed by your provider.
