As tax percentages (rates) can change, ie. GST, it is best to create a new Tax code at the new rate, rather than modifying the existing rate. This ensures the integrity of your historical data and reporting.
1.On the ribbon go to Setups > Accounts > Tax Codes. 2.Click Add to create a new GST code:  Enter: ▪Code: e.g. G125 ▪Description: GST 12.5% (from 1 August 2025) ▪Rate: 12.5 ▪Use the same linked GL accounts as your existing GST code. ▪Ensure the code is active. 
Leave your existing GST code as is, so previous transactions remain accurate for reporting and audit purposes.
You can choose to deactivate the original code at a later date once you're confident it is no longer being used. |
