The Asset end read/start read process can be used in situations in which the Assets reads are required to be lower than previous reads.
An example of this will be a machine that has a had a main board failure and its counts have reverted to 0.
From the Asset select Add Meter Read.
Select Asset End Read.
This read must be dated after the last read.
It is important to note that the difference between the last billed read and this entered End Read will be counted by the billing engine on the next billing job.
If you would not like to bill for these counts you can cancel all Asset Reads recorded since the last read that was used in contract billing.
You will not be able to cancel any reads that have been used in billing.
Select Add Meter Read from the asset and select Asset Start Read.
This Asset start read can be entered as a lower count than the previously submitted reads .
This read will be the new starting point for this Asset, This read must be dated after the previously entered Asset end read.
When adding a meter billing job from the contract linked to this Asset you will see the prior meter value as the entered asset start read (in the above example 0).
The billing engine will calculate the meter count between the last contract read used in billing and the contract end read, as well as from the new asset start read and the selected billing read.
Please not that this process may cause some stock macros to display in a confusing manner.
