Serial # Requirements
For quality control and recall purposes you may want to track the serial numbers of your stock. The following choices are available on each stock record.
Not Required |
Choose this if you do not require a stock serial# to be used. This is the default setting. |
On Purchase |
This option will require a serial# to be entered for each stock item on receipt of the purchase order and a serial# to be selected for each stock item on sale of the goods within a job. In most cases, you would choose On Purchase if you require tracking of serial number. |
On Sell |
This option will require a serial# to be added for each stock item on sale of the goods within a job. |
You can only select serial numbers for Depleting and Special stock. You cannot select Serial# on Purchase for a stock item where you have not indicated that you buy or manufacture it. You cannot select Serial# On Sell for a stock item which is not ticked as This Stock I Sell.
Note: Once stock has transactions against it, you cannot change the Serial# settings. |
Attribute Requirements
For reporting, control and recall purposes, you may want to categorise your stock using attributes. The following choices are available to each stock record via these choices.
Not Required |
To be used if you do not require stock attributes to be recorded. This is the default setting. |
On Purchase |
This option will require attributes to be entered for each stock item on receipt of the purchase order, and attributes to be selected for each stock item on sale of the goods within a job. |
On Sell |
This option will require attributes to be added for each stock item on sale of the goods within a job. |
You can have Attributes on Sell for all stock types, but you cannot have Attributes on Purchase for stock types that you do not purchase (for example, non depleting, kits, labour, applies stock). |
