This master contract contains two child contracts – one black and one colour. Both contracts have the same rate for black.
Master Meters can be used to manage rates on child contracts. There is no minimum volume for this contract.
|
A master and all its children should always have the same Next Bill date. Any changes made to the master will be copied down to the child machines.
|
One child is linked to an Item which has its service meters set to black and colour.
Both master meters are copied down to the colour child:
The second contract Item has service meter for black only.
For this second contract, only the black meter is copied down from the master.
To enter reads for all contracts under the master, open the child contract, then click Add Meter and select Add Billing Meter Job.
This will bring up the billing screen to enter the meter reading for this contract..
From the first contract, enter the reads then continue through all contracts.
If, for the black only contract, a read of 33,000 was received, and for the colour contract reads of 54,000 for black and 13,000 for colour were received, the following two separate jobs are created:
|
If billing macros are being used, the description will appear as for the black billing job above. If not, the description will appear as for the black and colour billing job above.
|
When creating the master job, Jim2 displays the minimum number of pages (in this case 0 for both).
This creates a master job that tracks all of the pages that have been billed on child contracts. The resultant master job has no charges, just page counts.
|
Once there is billing against the child contracts, they cannot be unlinked them from the master contract. Finish the child contracts and Create Similar to have them as stand alone contracts.
The child contract history will be against the finished contract, however the Service History Report looks at the Item and Serial#, so all instances relating to Serial# should be included in the report.
