On the ribbon, go to Tools > Options > Job > Stock.

From this screen, the following options can be set, all of which will have a global impact, meaning that every user accessing quotes is affected by what is set up here.

Field

Explanation

Default option in Sell in Advance field

This sets the default option that will be highlighted in Jim2 if sufficient stock is not available. When adding stock to a job which results in that stock selling in advance, a screen will appear with six options (explained below). The option that is already highlighted (for quick entry) is determined by the choice made here. Regardless of the default option set here, any of these options can be chosen when entering/adding stock on a job.

Option

Explanation

Supply in advance

No changes will be made to the quantities entered, however this can be overridden at stock level.

Supply from committed on earlier jobs

The supply quantity will be changed to the quantity available from stock committed to earlier jobs that have not been invoiced.

Supply only available (back order the rest)

The supply quantity will be changed to the quantity available in stock and the balance will be back ordered.

Supply only available (no back order)

The Qty Ordered and Supplied fields will both be changed to the quantity that is currently in stock.

Back order all

Qty Supplied will be zero, and Qty Ordered will equal Qty Back ordered.

None of the above

Decide what to do on a job-by-job basis if this default is selected. In other words, choose from the above from within a job.

When adding Stock, apply Qty Ordered to

This allows setting whether the stock quantity ordered on a job defaults to quantity supplied or quantity back ordered when the stock is added to the job.

Default Stock Qty

This relates to the quantities required to be entered into a job when the stock line is added, ie. if set to 1, when adding stock to a job the Order column will autofill with 1. This quantity can be changed when adding the stock.

Auto update available Qty when Stock is added to grid

This allows Jim2 to automatically update the supplied and back ordered quantities using the stock's Stock in Advance setting when selecting multiple stock records. This will only work when Supply only available (back order the rest) or Supply only available (no back order) is selected at either a global level (see above) or at a stock record level.

On New Line

globaloptions

This option defines what happens when moving to a new stock line in the job stock grid.

Option

Explanation

Standard mode (default)

Pressing the Enter or Tab key moves the cursor to the next field, then eventually to a new line. This new line is blank, awaiting input of stock code.

When in the Tax Code field at the end of the grid:

press Enter twice to go to a new line, or

right click in any field of the stock line and click Add New, or

use the down arrow on the keyboard to add a new line.

Auto fill stock code

If selected, the stock code from the line above is automatically entered when moving to a new line. This is useful in high distribution sites where the same stock code is entered but with different attributes, for example, on multiple lines. By default, the code from the line above is highlighted. Press Enter to accept that code, or enter a new stock code.

Scanner mode

This mode is designed for Retail. Upon entering/scanning in a stock code, Jim2 will automatically add the rest of the line, then add a new line and move to the next Stock Code field, ready for adding more stock.

Note: This setting is station level by default, however it can be made global by ticking Global for all Stations.

Kitting

Kitdefaults

This allows setting defaults for how kits are viewed on jobs.

If Auto Collapse Kit on add is selected, only the kit header will be visible on the job, not the kit contents.

Similarly, if Collapse Kits in View mode is selected, only the kit header will be visible in View mode, however the entire kit is visible in Edit mode.
