Attributes On Purchase

Scroll Prev Top Next More

If you have selected the Attribute on purchase option when creating your stock, you will need to enter attributes for it when purchasing, as well as select stock with specific attributes when selling.

Note the ellipsis [...] in the Description field (Double Breasted Jacket) on the Stock code JACKET.DB line. This is Jim2's way of telling you that there are attributes that apply to this stock, and you should apply them in the purchase order.

attrib ellipsis

Select the ellipsis, which will bring up the Attribute Configuration screen. This time you will notice the Template selection field, and the Apply option that will let you apply previously saved templates for this stock.

attrib config

You may enter in attributes manually, by just selecting or typing in values and then clicking OK. This time we've decided that we would like to apply our previously created template of JACKET for this stock. You can enter the name of the attribute template if you know it, or you can select the ellipsis [...] to search for attribute templates available for this stock, highlight the desired template name, then click OK to select it.

When you have entered your template name, click Apply for Jim2 to apply the template values to your stock.

To view the attributes you have just entered, you have to be in View mode rather than Edit mode, so click Save to save your order.

Your PO is now ready to finish off and invoice.

If you forget to apply attributes, and try to finish off a PO, Jim2 will alert you with an error message, along with the stock requiring attributes.

Info

You can only enter one set of attributes per line – this applies to both purchase and sales orders.

For example, if we were buying 5 brown jackets and 5 black jackets, they will have to be entered in Jim2 like so:

Info

If you enter one line of stock with any quantity and no Attribute Template set up, you can use the Attribute Matrix tab as shown here to enter your values.

Note that this will then create the required number of stock lines to correspond with what you have entered here in this screen.

Selling stock with attributes on purchase:

ATTRIB ON sALE

When you have stock that you have entered in attributes for on purchase, you must select which stock with which attributes you are going to sell on the sales order. Here, we have two jackets on a sales order. Before Jim2 will allow you to sell your jacket, you must select the ellipsis [...] to choose what stock with what attributes you are selling:

select attrib on job

When we look on Show Attributes we can see how many jackets, in what colour and sizes we have available.

Info

Because we entered our attributes on purchase, all this screen lets us do is highlight the lines with different attributes, and not actually enter any new attributes.

Once we have chosen the attributes, we are able to invoice the stock out correctly.
