Attributes can become quite complex, as use them in conjunction with serial numbers and with manufacturing, special and kitting stock, as well as normal depleting stock. These are all the possible configurations of how Attributes can be used.

Attributes cannot be on purchase for stock types non depleting/virtual/labour/applies/kitting. This is because attributes need to apply to a quantity purchased. Kitted, Applies, Virtual and Labour stock is not purchased, whilst non depleting do not have quantities of stock applied to them. Attributes on sell is allowed.
