Happen EKM DCA Release Notes

▪New Remote EWS feature, offering secure remote access to the embedded status and management web pages available on most printers. This optional feature requires an additional application component – Remote EWS Connector Service – which is offered as an installation option within the DCA installer (currently available for Windows installations only). Also requires a v37+ Portal with the feature enabled.

▪Added support for reading HP DesignJet and PageWide XL length and area counters, and total ink volume.

▪Improved the reading of HP DesignJet/PageWide XL ink levels, previously missing for several models.

▪Added support for reading HP Smart Tank ink level status.

▪Resolve double counting of media sizes affecting some HP Pro and Smart Tank devices.

▪Added reporting of waste toner level for Sharp devices.

▪Fix Xerox hole punch waste alerts being wrongly associated with the waste toner supply.

▪Extract tiered colour counters for Toshiba devices and fix under-counting issue for some Toshiba devices with tiered counting enabled or using erasable blue toner.

▪Improved the classification of cleaning supplies.

▪Java runtime environment updated to 11.0.24.

▪A new IMIL discover command allows running an immediate device discovery for an IP address or hostname.

▪The test snmp IMIL command now supports use of a hostname as the test target, and includes the configured device hostname in the response, if available.

▪New IMIL command list device N displays the details for a single device.

▪Added support for reading total length and area counters from Océ PlotWave and ColorWave devices.

▪Improved counter detection for Fujifilm devices, particularly mono models.

▪Addressed issues with some Brother devices where the sum of the page counters was lower than the reported lifetime total.

Note: As a result of this fix, the recorded mono/colour totals for affected Brother devices will increase after upgrade.

▪Record a missing mono counter for some legacy Ricoh Aficio CL models.

▪Workaround to ignore repeated false 100% levels reported by Xerox WorkCentre 722x drum cartridges.

▪Fixed an issue reading the Maintenance Box level for some Epson devices.

▪Model name for HP devices now updates with changes resulting from speed licensing.

▪The programmable device name for Zebra devices is now used as the hostname.

▪Improved the reading of configured hostname for Canon devices.

▪Avoid recording false changes to HP and Epson firmware caused by partial information.

▪Improvement to HP JAMC device discovery when alternate SNMP credentials are in use.

▪Java runtime environment updated to 11.0.22.

▪Message compression is now enabled as standard, reducing the total volume of network traffic to the Portal by up to 80%.

▪Support for sending counter readings to the Portal at additional times in the day.   

▪SNMPv3 support extended to include RFC 7860 SHA-2 authentication protocols.

▪Scan counter support added for Xerox and Epson devices.

▪Service Counters, introduced in FutureSmart 5.4 as a replacement for engine cycle counters, are now recorded for HP devices which have them using info codes 74-76.

▪Canon waste collector supplies reporting a level in percent are now recorded as such.

▪Fix for stuck low levels for some consumables reporting only OK/Low/Empty state.

▪Resolve incorrect serial number read for a small number of Xerox press models.

▪Communication with the product licensing server is now performed via secure HTTPS using port 443 by default, with HTTP over port 80 used as a fallback mechanism.

▪The DCA no longer attempts to use port 80 to make outgoing XMPP connections.

▪Java runtime environment updated to 11.0.18.

▪Support for discovery and monitoring of FUJIFILM devices.

▪Enhanced Zebra integration (available with Insight Portal 5.21.1.34 or later):

– Remote firmware upgrade: Download and apply firmware updates to Zebra devices.

–  Send extended media roll and cartridge history information to the portal.

▪Fix an issue introduced in v.20.2.24 that could prevent fast discovery scans finding all available devices.

▪Improved firmware version identification for Sharp, Xerox, HP, Epson and Dell devices.

▪Read detailed meters from a variant count structure found in some Canon models.

▪Fixes to Sharp counter to prevent rare cases of double counting.

▪Resolve an issue that prevented the discovery of a new device using different SNMP credentials at the IP address of an existing device.

▪Correct a misidentification of some Lexmark-manufactured Xerox models.

▪IMIL 'list devices' command now includes which SNMP credentials are in use, and 'list devices using cred N' shows a filtered list of devices using a credential.

▪Resolved further issues affecting remote service restart on some Windows platforms.

▪Support for performing interactive, unattended or scripted command line installation on all platforms.

▪Installer support for the Linux aarch64 (ARM64) architecture.

▪Support for installing on headless Linux systems.

▪Fix incorrect counts recorded for Sharp devices with tiered counting enabled.

▪Extract tiered colour counters for Sharp devices.

▪Automatically record Kyocera tiered counters when they are enabled after the device is first discovered.

▪Relay changes of device model name to the Portal.

▪Fix device location missing for some HP devices.

▪Remove spurious numeric suffix on serial numbers for some Dell devices.

▪Fix for occasional transient cases of double counting and erroneous Other size counts being recorded for some HP devices.

▪Resolve an issue where the reported device hostname could repeatedly switch between a hostname and an IP address.

▪Read % toner level where available for a few additional Ricoh/Savin models.

▪Resolved issues with remote service restart failing on some Windows systems.

▪Improved agent keep-alive behaviour on MacOS.

▪Device location (as manually configured on the device) and main firmware version are now read at daily intervals and relayed to the Portal.

▪Device hostname is now read directly from the device where possible, rather than via DNS lookup, and changes in hostname are relayed to the Portal daily.

Note: The hostname previously recorded for devices may change as a result of this.

▪Improvements to Ricoh consumable level handling:

–Read toner levels at 1% precision for devices with the SP5-768-001 service mode setting enabled.

–Resolve issues reading levels for production devices having multiple cartridges of the same colour.

–Accurate identification of toner colour for international language devices.

▪Additional product support for legacy Dell devices:

–Accurate model name extraction for Lexmark-based Dells.

▪Read mono and colour impression totals for Lexmark and Xerox based Dell models.  

▪Added support for reading alerts (error and warning conditions) from Zebra devices.

▪Resolve issues with reading a consistent MAC address for some Zebra devices.

▪Fix for stuck meter readings for some HP-rebadged Samsung models.

▪Java runtime environment updated to OpenJDK 11.0.11.

▪MacOS installer support for native execution on Apple M1 chip.

▪Automatic self-diagnosis and recovery from the most common XMPP connectivity problems.

▪The DCA now performs a full integrity check of its application database at startup and at daily intervals, with automatic recovery from last good backup.

▪Additional resilience and automatic recovery from temporary application database connectivity issues.

▪IMIL Status response and memory monitor logging now includes host system memory and CPU usage stats. This can help identify potential performance issues caused by other programs running on the same machine as the DCA.

▪Fix an issue with Portal resync which could cause the IDs of deleted devices to be reused under certain circumstances.

▪Support for discovery and limited monitoring of networked Zebra print devices.

▪Fix to prevent Samsung toners sometimes being recorded as two different items.

▪Workaround to ignore abnormally high meter reading jumps (million plus) reported occasionally by some Ricoh printers.

▪Installer support for Mac and Linux operating systems.
